Looking back across the great expanse of time that I’ve been a part of Century 21 C. Watson – more than 42 years – I see the tremendous growth and change in the San Joaquin Valley and the Fresno area. I see the historic rise in property values along with the precipitous fall. I see a recovery we’re still praying for, a vast array of buyers and sellers with whom we’ve had a privileged and ongoing relationship, and the dedication of our company associates who strive always to do the best job possible to assist good, hardworking people buy and sell property.
People. That’s who we’re about here at Century 21 C. Watson. The people we represent and the relationships that develop. Nothing else is more important. I’d like to think that’s the reason we’re the oldest residential real estate firm in the Fresno area. We care about people. Our associates believe the same. They’re not just “agents” but Realtors who are true to their professional calling and understand the importance of the American Dream. Some of them have been with us for more than 30 years. Others have just recently passed the state exam and are exuberant and enthused to be the future of the real estate industry.
My family roots are deep in the Central Valley. My parents and grandparents lived and worked here, my two children are an integral part of Century 21 C. Watson, and two of my three grandchildren (the youngest is ten) have worked their way through college working in our office. (Grandson Vinnie Vidaurri already holds a California Real Estate License.) Roots are important. They hold up the old Oak Tree while the branches reach out for newer heights – just like many of our associates. Some of our Company “branches” are young immigrants who came to the United States for the promise of hope and the rewards of hard work. I’m very pleased to say that at least a half dozen of top Associates are immigrant success stories.
With longevity and performance come bragging rights. Due to the trust engendered between our valued clients and associates, Century 21 C. Watson has consistently, over the past 25 years, been an award winning Centurion and Grand Centurion company. This year we rank in the upper one percent of all Century 21 companies and 8th nationally. We believe strongly in giving back to our local community. We are proud of the years spent donating blood to the Central Valley Blood Center, giving to youth sports and activities, supporting the philanthropic interests of our associates, and, for the past 20 years, becoming the major Century 21 sponsor of Easter Seals. Each year we hold “Bowler’s Bash” to raise funds for projects such as Camp Harmon. In 2011 we raised approximately $25,000. Over the years, we’ve contributed close to a $500,000.
